| All the fruit for this wine comes from fifteen year old vines from the Seresin Home Vineyard on the upper terraces surrounding the winery. The vineyard is made up of a variety of Waimakiriri type soils of alluvial origin with free-draining basalt pebbles. Our vines are all on narrow-row spacing which promotes competition and encourages a lighter crop on each vine. The Memento Riesling was handpicked on April 4.The nose exhibits floral and lime aromas with hints of apricot. The palate is crisp with hints of stonefruit and citrus. This wine brings together the extremes of sweetness and acidity creating a long and harmonious finishThe fruit was hand-sorted and then whole bunch pressed to retain purity of fruit characters. After pressing the juice was settled until it was crystal clear and then fermented at low temperatures until a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity was achieved. The finished wine has an alcohol of 12.5 percent, pH of 2.90, 8.7g/L titratable acid and 45g/L residual sugar. |
