Annahala Vineyard is located halfway between the towns of Philo and Boonville on Highway 128 in Mendocino County. Taking advantage of the cool Pacific Ocean air that funnels from the “Deep End” of the Anderson Valley toward Boonville, Annahala is ideally influenced to produce world-class Pinot Noir. This unique cool climate, combined with well-drained alluvial soils of the Feliz and Pinole series that dominate this area, are the primary reasons that the Anderson Valley AVA is has emerged as one of the world’s most exciting winegrowing regions. An early budbreak, warmer weather in mid-August, and very cool weather from early September through harvest characterized this classic vintage. The long hang times resulted in pristine fruit of perfect ripeness, great flavor intensity and silky tannins. The cold picked fruit was destemmed, after which whole berries underwent a prolonged cold soak, followed by gentle fermentation in small batches. The effusive young wine was then rested in French oak barrels (one third new) to deepen and add refinement. This blockbuster Pinot Noir, which was bottled in early September of 2008, demonstrates thrilling intensity, hedonistic ripeness and perfect pitch.Varietal Content 100% Pinot Noir
