2010 GEVREY CHAMBERTIN VIEILLES VIGNES

INTRODUCTION

The appellation is the largest by far in the Cote d'Or. With a total of 1,354 acres in the Cote d'Or, Geverey Chambertin accounts for two thirds. All Gevrey, regardless of status, should be substantial wine, dark in hue and infused with a strong, assertive fruit.

VINEYARD PROFILE

Average age of vines in the plot - from 30 to 50 years

Geology - Clay-limestone

Annual production - 3000 to 4000 bottles

The vines have only been treated with organic preparations since 2003

Gevrey Chambertin has 85.5255 ha/211 acres in 26 vineyards.

WINEMAKER NOTES

Wine for laying down, but can be appreciated when young after carafing for several hours before serving.
