Of all the grands crus, Charmes is the easiest. It matures sooner than any of the others, is softer, and is the most apparently fruity.Charmes Chambertin is located beneath Chambertin and in between Mazoyeres Chambertin and Griotte Chambertin on 12.2456 ha/30.3 acres.

Annual production - 1800 to 2400 bottles
The vines have only been treated with organic preparations since 2003Wine for laying down, but can be appreciated when young after carafing for several hours before serving.Grape variety - 100% Pinot Noir
