We have 5 core vineyard partners in Crozes Hermitage.
The vineyards are mainly from the Southern part of the small town of Tain l’Hermitage (Beaumont Monteux), and the Northern part (Larnage sector).
The Southern part vineyards are stony and are harvested by machine. These vineyards are also used to produce our “gourmand” line wines - pleasant, fruity and round in style.
The Northern part vineyards are on the slopes, more granitic and a little white clay soils. This clay was formed by marine sediments millions of years ago. The color of the clay comes from the chemical components. The cuvees originating from there are aged in oak barrels and produce a more structured style of Crozes Hermitage.
Jean-François combines these 2 areas in order to produce a fruity, elegant, round, structured and complex Crozes Hermitage.
100% Syrah, no Roussanne or Marsanne |
