The Côtes du Rhône AOC is the second largest in France after Bordeaux. Its large area covers an infinite number of terroirs as the prehistoric times in the south of France have known many changes as far as climates and geology are concerned. Nowadays, the climate is very enjoyable thanks to long periods of sunny days and a specific asset : the Mistral wind : a cold and dry wind that often blows after the rainfalls. The vines are situated on the right side of the Rhône river (Laudun & Saint Gervais) on sandy and clayed soils that are very fresh during the nights.Robe : bright yellow Nose: very fruity and fresh with some honey aromas. Palate: soft attack, white fruit aromas (peer, peach), spicy finishHarvests have been partly done during the nights starting at 2.00 am ! After the harvests, the berries have had a pre-fermented maceration at low temperatures. This Côtes du Rhône is a blend with 50% Grenache and 20% Roussane and 30% Viognier. No oak ageing - only fruit. |
