The Côtes du Rhône AOC is the second largest in France after Bordeaux. Its large area covers an infinite number of terroirs as the prehistoric times in the south of France have known many changes as far as climates and geology are concerned. Nowadays, the climate is very enjoyable thanks to long periods of sunny days and a specific asset : the Mistral wind : a cold and dry wind that often blows after the rainfalls. The vines of Syrah are mainly situated on the right side of the Rhône River on sandy soils that give all the fruit to the berries. The Grenache are more on soils covered with pebbles.Robe : ruby Nose: very fruity and dense, ripe red berries, hints of oak. Palate: round tanins but real structure. Ripe. Soft attack and long finish. This Côtes du Rhône is a blend with about 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. A little part of the blend has been oak aged in order to give some complexity to the aromas. |
