2009 CROZES HERMITAGE - VIN RARE

INTRODUCTION

2009 is our fourth vintage of Crozes-Hermitage. We have benefited by closest as ever links with vine-growers in the area. As a consequence, some new and top quality plots of vines. Part of them are situated in Larnage where the soils are mainly composed of granite and another part is situated in Beaumont-Monteux which soils are mainly made of clay and round stones. The most concentrated wines have been aged in oak barrels (Vosges and Allier forests) for ten months. This cuvée has been bottled mid December 2010.

TASTING NOTES

When young, this Crozes-Hermitage needs to be aerated 3 to 4 hours before pouring. The aromas will then develop and show a mix between licorice, blueberry and toasty notes. The roundness of the mouth is balanced by a good acidity typical from that region. Impressive & long finish. You can drink this 09 with grilled meat (pork, chicken, lamb) but also with good AOC cheeses.
