The Batard Montrachet vineyard lies across two communes, the total space of the vineyard is 11.86 hectares(29.3 acres) and is split almost in half by having 14.9 acres in Puligny-Montrachet and 14.4 acres in Chassagne-Montrachet.Pierre Rovani notes: This extraordinarily youthful Grand Cru reveals notes of gold in its robe. Aromatically, roasted minerals are found immediately upon uncorking this wine yet, with time, it slowly evolves into more defined notes of flowers and crushed stones. Still tightly wound, it exhibits vibrancy, a satiny texture, and a flavor profile of transcendent minerals. Tasted April 2008 |
