2006 SAINT AUGUSTE

VINEYARD PROFILE

Grape variety: Blend of the best casks of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot

Colour: Red

Vinification: 30-to-35-day-long fermentation on natural yeasts in tanks to help tannins polymerize, making them smoother. Regular remontages and even délestages (wine is run out of the tank into another, and then pumped over the cap of grape skins) ensure enough aeration to the wine.
Élevage: 12 months in old Dujac oak. Blended in tanks and bottled unfiltered after a light fining.

TASTING NOTES

Triennes' flagship red wine is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvigon and Merlot. A dark, dense wine with purple hues, it shows spicy aromas combined with ripe fresh fruit. The palate is rich and full of life with plenty of structure. This is a wine that needs some air to truly open up and show its best.
