2008 Snowden The Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon

Good bright ruby. Dark cherry, licorice, mint and herbs on the nose. Less dense but more juicy than the 2007 Ranch, with the licorice note carrying through in the mouth. A less chunky but also cooler style, showing good balance and suave tannins but finishing with a slightly dryness.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch (95% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) is a soft, fruity, endearing Cabernet offering up notes of cedarwood, licorice, tobacco leaf, black currants and cherries. Consume this medium-bodied effort over the next decade or more.
While Snowden’s 2008s do not approach their brilliant 2007s in quality, they are very strong efforts from this 22-acre vineyard (11 acres are in the process of being replanted). Moreover, the 2009s look to eclipse the 2008s

Fascinating aromas of spices, flowers, and coffee with dark fruits. Chocolate too. Full body, with slightly coarse tannins and a medium finish. Give a little time to come together.
