> New Zealand was the first country to grant women the vote.
> Many of the scenes in Lord of the Rings were filmed in New Zealand.
> New Zealand’s highest point is the South Island’s Mt. Cook at 12,316 feet. The country has 18 peaks above 9,800 feet and more than 25 ski areas including Turoa and Whakapapa in the north and The Invincibles, The Remarkables and Coronet Peak in the south.
