Borgoluce
The Collaltos carry on a family legacy as owners and tenants of 3200 acres of land north of Venice given to their family over one thousand years ago. The signs of history, culture and nature co-exist with farming practices that fully respect what is a centuries-long tradition passed down by the Collalto family. 160 acres of farmland are given over to vineyards for the production of Borgoluce wines and sparkling wines. The Valdobbiadene D.O.C.G. region is home to the vineyards of Borgoluce’s finest Prosecco.
Reviews
The 2019 Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Rive di Collalto Extra Brut takes some time to come together in the glass, slowly evolving with a subtle display of dusty flowers, pear and white smoke. It’s a round and pliant expression, with a mix of stimulating acids and minerals adding both energy and depth. There’s a beautiful symmetry here of both savory and sweet components, as this finishes dry with a hint of raw dough that lingers. 2020 – 2024
Flavors of yellow apple, lemon and honeydew melon are lightly tangy and ripe enough to balance the bone-dry finish in this clean, zesty Prosecco.
TRE BICCHIERE / GAMBERO ROSSO
Austerity and quality are perfectly expressed in Rive di Collalto Extra Brut ’19, a Prosecco that succeeds in the difficult task of combining the delicacy and simplicity characteristic of the type, with the depth and finesse lent by the Collalto vineyards.
