Huguet de Can Feixes
The historic Can Feixes Estate is situated on gravely slopes nestled over 1400 feet above sea level in an incomparable setting on the slopes of the famous Montserrat pinnacle, which forms Penedès northern boundary in the Upper Penedès wine region of Barcelona. Can Feixes forms an ecological environment where different crops and varied vegetation interact in perfect symbiosis between the cultivated and wildlands, reflecting the best expression of biodiversity in agriculture. For the Huguet family, respect and protection of the environment are considered integral elements of quality wines.
These are the farthest Penedès vineyards from the Mediterranean with, at times, extreme continental temperature variation. The drier climate is conducive to grape health. The altitude and mountain terrain constitute the tiny viticultural home of the Parellada variety, locally known as Montonec (“grape of the mountain”). The soil is chalk, clay and quite rocky with a capacity to retain water. The combination of climate and soil result in lower yields and grapes of exceptional quality. Recognized as one of the region’s Corpinnat vineyards, Can Feixes retains only the most exceptional grapes, and subsequently the very best wines for production under the family label.

Parellada at its best, from high-altitude, gravelly mountain soils: intense lemon-oil aroma with firm acid structure enhanced by the rare, glyceric Malvasía. Stony and aromatic. A young, dry white wine made from a careful selection of the grape varietals grown in Can Feixes, carefully nurtured to express the primary fruit and floral characters so typical of our grapes.
Pair with aperitifs, salads, seafood & shellfish in general, light soft/melted cheeses and poultry.

The young and unoaked still white 2021 Blanc Selecció is a blend of Parellada, Macabeo, Chardonnay, Xarello and Malvasía de Sitges with 12% alcohol and a low pH, reflecting a cooler year with rain and snow and a dry summer with some rain that helped the ripening of the grapes. It has notes of white fruit and flowers. It showcases the house style of elegance, transparency and harmony—elegant and clean wines. It’ a very good vintage for this wine that is not showy or exuberant, but I like its restraint. 2022 – 2024
Can Feixes is the family property of the Huguet family. They have 80 hectares of vineyards and produce 200,000 bottles of wine. I’ve always liked the purity and transparency of these wines. All of the wines are certified organic and have been for a long time, as even the 2013 I tasted had the organic seal.
