Rizzi
Nestled at the very top of the impressively steep, vine-clad hills of the Treiso zone of Barbaresco, the winery’s vineyards were planted as early as the 1960’s in the white marl, calcareous soil typical of this area. An impressive selection of cru Barbaresci is punctuated by the spectacular Vigna Boito located at the peak of the Rizzi cru. The estate is managed entirely by the Dellapiana family with son Enrico as winemaker and viticulturist. Rizzi Winery participates in “The Green Experience” project which mandates guidelines for environmentally sustainable production.

Winemaker's Notes
Langhe Nebbiolo is the perfect example of how to understand the king of Piedmontese vines and this wine is a classic yet contemporary version. It comes from noble “raw materials,” the color is bright ruby red, it releases spicy, floral and fruity scents. The body and tannic structure are mouth-wateringly elegant. It’s a versatile wine, perfect for an aperitif, lunch or dinner.

Reviews
90 Points
The 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo from the Dellapiana family is a lovely young wine, with all of the transparency and red fruity elegance that one finds in the family’s Barbaresco bottlings as well. The wine comes in at an even fourteen percent octane in 2019 and delivers a refined bouquet of cherries, a touch of blood orange, woodsmoke, gamebird, fresh oregano, a beautiful base of soil and a hint of licorice in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tangy, with a fine core of fruit, excellent soil signature, ripe, moderate tannins, vibrant acids and a long, complex and very promising finish. This is an excellent wine that needs a few years in the cellar to soften up its backend tannins and start to drink with generosity, but it is going to be lovely. 2026 – 2045+
