Tiberio

The story of Azienda Agricola Tiberio rings more like a new world tale than one from the old world of the ancient lands beneath the Majella and Gran Sasso mountains in Abruzzo. At 350 meters, twenty three miles inland from the seaside city of Pescara near the hillside town of Cugnoli, Riccardo Tiberio found an old plot of Trebbiano Abruzzese vines roughly 50 years old so impressive that he decided to change his and his family’s destiny.

The 2020 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo lifts up, more savory than sweet and decidedly floral. Dusty dried flowers and incense give way to hints of crushed raw almonds. Its round textures find balance, as a wave of brisk acids and mineral-tinged orchard fruits cascade across the palate. A gentle tug of citrus and hints of peach linger. The 2020 is a remarkably pretty and lifted vintage for Tiberio’s Trebbiano. 2021 – 2026

This fresh and lively Trebbiano d’Abruzzo has a pure and bright apple and pear nose followed by a mouthful of succulent melon, light stone fruits and a big hit of salinity. The high acidity makes this a great wine for food, and also means it can age for a few years. 2022 – 2028
