Winemaker's Notes
In its name is the color of the white lands of which it grows, an alienated and wavy stretch of calcareous soil where the Catarratto vine thrives, amongst the most typical and mainly used in Sicily. To these grapes, a touch of Zibibbo is approached with intelligence and discretion to the Fontane Bianche wine. If the Catarratto, son of poor and calcareous soils leads to a subtle wine, with a slight hint of bitter almond, the touch of Zibibbo slightly sweetens it and makes it delicate. The result is fresh and light.

Reviews
90 Points
Musky dried apricots, pears, custard and dusty yellow florals lift up from the 2018 Alcamo Classico Fontane Bianche. This balances richness with refinement, as creamy textures soothe and ripe orchard fruits are lifted by notes notes of mint and white pepper. Young peach, nectarine and a salty twang of minerality linger long. The Fontane Bianche is a lively and spicy blend of 95% Catarratto and 5% Zibibbo. 2021 – 2024
