Collazzi

Collazzi

Villa Collazzi is one of the most impressive estates in all of Tuscany. This architectural landmark was originally designed by Michelangelo in 1560 for his friend, Agostino Dini. It offers commanding views of the surrounding countryside. I Collazzi is a property of the Marchi brothers, Carlo and Bona. During the last decade the Marchi brothers invested heavily in the development of Collazzi’s farming business, renewing the vineyards and restructuring the cellar, with the goal of producing excellent wines. Collazzi produces grapes from this esteemed estate only; a super-Tuscan blend called Collazzi, Chianti Classico named Bastioni, and a select few additional bottlings.

This wine offers a rich, chocolatey profile featuring ripe red and dark fruits, layered with spices and dried flowers. Medium- to full-bodied, it presents a firm, vertical structure with compact tannins. The mouthfeel is fleshy and dense, leading to a lingering finish. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Liberta dei Collazzi is packed with sweet red cherry fruit, cedar, pipe tobacco, dried flowers and spice. This soft, easygoing Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc blend is an absolute delight. 2025 – 2030
