Josep Grau
Josep Grau returned to the land where he was born in 2003 to embark on a new journey. His wines are not influenced by trends, opinion leaders’ tastes or fads. Instead, they strive to be authentic and deeply imbued with the essence: Grau is convinced that outstanding wines can be made with very little, avoiding artifice and respecting the natural language of the vineyard. Viticulture follows organic principles (certified in Spain), and is herbicide and pesticide free.

Old-vine Garnacha from Capçanes, aged in cement and foudres, delivering strawberry
sweets, white pepper, dried herbs and garrigue, ripe and generous with the powdery tannins that define the wine’s charm. 2026 – 2034

The 2023 La Florens from Montsant, Catalunya, is 100% Garnatxa. It displays the spirit of Montsant with intense aromas of morello cherry, rose and a delicate hint of blood orange. The palate is juicy and full of flavor with fine, slender tannins and a trace of whole-cluster fermentation that firms the gums. It finishes with good depth. 2025 – 2043

This has a pretty nose of rose petals, red fruit and a touch of red pepper. A pure garnacha, it is medium- to full-bodied, showing inherent richness yet remaining balanced, framed by focused, well-crafted, polished tannins. Drink now.
95+ Points
The red 2023 La Florens was produced with Garnacha from two old plots on limestone soils in the village of Capçanes. It fermented with some stems in raw concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured in 2,500-liter Austrian foudres for 10 months, followed by a further two months in concrete before bottling. It has a beautiful nose, perfumed, elegant and clean. The wine comes in at 14.56% alcohol, with a pH of 3.48 and 5.1 grams of acidity, and it’s even fresher and more vibrant than the previous vintages, with finesse and texture. 12,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2025. 2025 – 2033
