Le Monde

Le Monde lies between the banks of the Livenza and Meduna rivers, close to the border between the provinces of Treviso and Pordenone in Friuli Grave. Reviews

90 Points

The 2023 Friulano from Le Monde is fermented and raised in stainless steel tanks. The wine is bright and complex on the nose, wafting from the glass in a fine mix of pear, green olive, white flowers, salty soil tones, raw almond and a touch of fresh-cut grass in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full and complex, but also a touch reductive already from its closure, with a touch of bitterness perking up on the finish from the screwcap. The wine has a good core and lovely soil signature and is very nicely balanced. Once I decanted the wine for twenty minutes, it blossomed very nicely. It is a very tasty bottle of Friulano whose inherent quality is surely worthy of a natural cork closure in future vintages! For drinking over the next year or two, it will be an excellent drink if decanted prior to serving, but the screwcap is robbing the wine of at least a couple more points in its score. 2025 – 2030
