Nestled at the very top of the impressively steep, vine-clad hills of the Treiso zone of Barbaresco, the winery’s vineyards were planted as early as the 1960’s in the white marl, calcareous soil typical of this area. An impressive selection of cru Barbaresci is punctuated by the spectacular Vigna Boito  located at the peak of the Rizzi cru. The estate is managed entirely by the Dellapiana family with son Enrico as winemaker and viticulturist. Rizzi Winery participates in “The Green Experience” project which mandates guidelines for environmentally sustainable production.

Harvest Notes
  • Hand harvested into small crates from end of August into beginning of September
  • Gentle pressing upon arrival at cellar
  • Juice immediately chilled to 32ºF for cold stabilization in stainless steel tanks
  • Fermentation begins with gentle heating to 64ºF, addition of selected yeasts and continues at controlled temperatures 64-68ºF
  • When wine reaches 5% alcohol the fermentation is stopped by refrigeration at 26ºF
  • Filtered and bottled
Winemaker's Notes

It’s a cheerful, light, aromatic and cold wine, made with Moscato grapes owned by the family. It has always been theperfect Piedmontese excuse for refreshing break, and is envied world wide for its unique character. The bouquet releases scents of wild flowers and white-fleshed fruits. A delicate perlage combines with balanced, gustatory sweetness.

This is a perfect dessert wine and a wonderful companion to fresh cheeses.

100% Moscato Bianco; 5% alcohol; DOCG vineyards in Treiso and Neviglie; grown in white marl clay-calcalerous soils; hand harvested late August – early September; grapes crushed immediately and juice chilled to 32°F, fermented in stainless steel tanks at 64°F until 5% alcohol reached, then cooled to 26ºF; bottled after filtering.
