Vineyard Profile
Pinot Blanc, South Tyrol’s most important grape variety, has awakened from its slumber and has evolved a calling-card for the region. Schulthauser was vinified and bottled for the first time in 1982, and is famous for creamy softness and its lively acidity.

Harvest Notes
- Hand harvested and clusters selected in vineyard at end of September

Winemaker's Notes
A premium aperitif and summer wine, it is also quite a versatile food pairing partner. Straw yellow with a green shimmer. Clean, fruity notes of apple, apricot and pear stimulate the nose. In the mouth, lively acidity, balanced with a fruit-incised creaminess. This is the consummate South Tyrolean, fresh and fruity Pinot Blanc. Not ostentatious. It is the calling card for the region.
It goes well with not only seafood and fish but also delicate dishes made with wild fowl. Especially recommended as accompaniment to South Tyrolean Schultzkrapfen.

Packaged in a Riesling bottle, the San Michele Appiano 2019 Alto Adige Pinot Bianco Schulthauser is the classic, or the so-called traditional, wine in the portfolio of this dynamic cooperative winery. This lovely expression is silky and bright, with good freshness and a fundamentally vivid or lively quality of fruit. Citrus, wild sage, peach and crushed limestone appear on the accessible bouquet. 2020 – 2024
